The Week of Sick Continues.....and, BIG NEWS

The sick bug has unpacked his bags at our house and apparently has decided to stay, much against our consent might I add. We all got hit with the puke which involved a hospital trip each for Jake and I for dehydration. You would think that would be enough...oh no....one day later, the boys both got a horrible cold. They are STILL coughing up a storm and Jake got it yesterday. You know what that means....I'm next. Oh joy. Now, onto bigger and better things. I mean BIG NEWS!

Speaking of puking, mine didn't end like everyone elses. Nope, it continues even today. And you know why? Because my body HATES being pregnant. Yep, baby number 3 is in the oven!! I can guess what you are all saying without even being there to hear it "You are crazy!" or "Are they insane?!" Well, it wasn't exactly planned. And when you put the two most fertile people on the planet together, apparently anything is possible. I'll admit, I was a little horrified and scared to death when we first found out. But now I'm glad the kids will all be so close. It will be so much fun for them :) I'll definitely be busy with 3 kids 3 and under, but I can do it, I know I can. Jake and I joke that if we have 3 boys, it would be hillarious if they all made the varsity football team in high school "Kehret passes to Kehret!" Ha ha :) I'm not exactly sure when I'm due since it wasn't the most planned pregnancy. But I think around October 12th, which is the day after Isaiah's 3rd birthday!! Let's hope he's potty trained by then, shall we? Our first appointment is on March 8th and I will keep you all posted.

I thought you might enjoy this picture. Apparently, a missing period and one positive pregnancy test were not enough to convince me. I may have been in denial because I took SEVEN tests. Yep, they were all positive. Maybe I thought one would be negative?? I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, here we go!!

Vomit anyone??

Last night I told Jake that hell must have frozen over because Isaiah ASKED me to go to bed at 9:30. Little did I know the night we had in store at that point. At about 10:30 I was thrilled because I was turning off all the lights and getting to bed before midnight! yay! So I started to walk down the hall to bed when I heard it, Isaiah puking. I opened his door to find puke EVERYWHERE!! Poor guy was so out of it because not only was he sick, but it had woken him up out of a deep sleep. So I pulled him out of bed and headed to the shower. We barely made it to the bathroom when he puked all over the floor. Poor guy:(

This was his first time throwing up and I've always been scared of that moment. Mostly because how do you explain to a two year old what is going on with their body and why they feel so horrible? I tried my best to tell him his tummy was sick and was trying to get better by getting rid of all that stuff. He didn't understand. He threw up ALL NIGHT. Literally. His final puke session was at 8am. I was so worried about him because he would be out, completely asleep, and then his body would start heaving in his sleep and wake him up to puke. It was so very sad. Especially when every time he would wake up and puke he would look up at me and say "Much better Mommy". Or when he was crying saying "I need medicine Mommy!" It broke my heart.

Anyway, we survived and he is MUCH better today. However, now I have it and so does Jake so, tonight should be fun. Let's just hope Christian doesn't get it, that's what I'm most worried about.

Play Date!

Okay, so this happened a couple weeks ago, but it was memorable so....BLOG IT!

Christian had his first official play date with Ms. Hailey. Now I'm wondering if I should start to worry about our little flirt. Ever since he was born Jake and I have always said that we can see Christian as the "girl chaser" out of he and Isaiah. Well, his "date" with Hailey sure didn't prove us wrong. First of all, he's already going for the older ladies, Hailey being 10 days his senior;) Then, not five minutes after meeting her, he tried to take his shirt off and gave her what I think was a flirtatious smile (he'll have to work on that, it just looked awkward..lol). THEN, as you will see in the pictures, he apparently continued to check out her bootie through out the play date (okay okay, he probably wasn't, but it sure looks like it!) But Hailey handled herself well, she had NO interest in Christian. It was like she was out of his league and she knew it! ha ha! Oh well, he has PLENTY of time to practice;)

Onto another subject....as a parent, you start to learn that sometimes your kids will say things back to you that are, not so nice, but so clever and hilarious that it's hard not to laugh. Which really does not help when you are trying to stay firm and stick to discipline! Isaiah and I had one of those moments today. He has a train table which he LOVES. He decided he wanted to climb on it and sit on top of it. I told him to "Get off of there Isaiah! You will break it!". Without missing a beat he looked up at me with a stern face and said "That's not true Mommy!" Oh how hard it was to keep a straight face! That kid is so quick sometimes I can't believe it. I didn't eve know he knew what the word truth meant.

Tag Team

I've come to the conclusion that my sleeping days are over....indefinitely. I've always envied and honestly, kind of got annoyed with, people who say "oh, my son/daughter slept though the night since the day we got home from the hospital!" Really?? How is that even possible? My boys have conspired against me and created a tag team, apparently feeling that I don't need sleep. In fact, lately they have decided that 2-3 hours for me is sufficient. Call me crazy, but I enjoy at least a nice full 6 hours if I can get it.

This is how the tag team works. At about midnight (which is when I usually make it to bed) Christian wakes up crying. I rock him back to sleep or pop his paci back in his mouth and calm him down. As I quietly close the door and tip toe back to my room.......Isaiah starts to cry. I'm not sure why Isaiah wakes up crying at the age of 2. Night terrors? Growing pains? Not sure. Anyway, I soothe him back to sleep, get all warm and cozy back in bed and just when sleep is in sight, it never fails, Christian cries again. This goes on all night. Needless to say, I'm a zombie lately, literally.

However, despite all this, I must say I am literally amazed at how little sleep the human body, well, Mom body, can run on. I'm managing. It sucks, but, I'm surviving.

On another note, Christian has had a few firsts these last couple days! His first black eye (pictured) and his first words! He says "uh oh" now. Sooo cute! Oh, and he started pointing. There is also a picture of my nocturnal Isaiah. This kids HATES sleep. He stays up until 11, 11:30 and wakes up at 7. Oh, and he doesn't nap. Trust me, I've tried EVERYTHING. So I got a little tired of him being crazy hyper and sent him to the store with Daddy at 10:30 at night hoping he would fall asleep in the car. Nope, he came home wide eyed and happy as pictured. Oh well, I'm enjoying it all and soaking all these moments in, frustrating and tiring as they can be, because they will not be this small forever.

Firetrucks NEVER get old....

if you're a two year old that is! Yesterday we went to visit Daddy at the fire station. This isn't necessarily anything special since thankfully we live about 15 minutes from Jake's station. So the boys and I usually try to visit Daddy on a regular basis on whatever weekend day he is working. We've done this for a good while now, even before Christian was born. And somehow, Isaiah NEVER gets over the firetrucks. He wants to see them EVERY TIME we go out there and cries every time we have to leave the firetrucks. Hmmm, I wonder if this is foreshadowing for his career? Who knows, we will love him no matter what he decides to do! Anyway, here are a few pictures of our visit. Oh, and Christian isn't quite into the firetrucks yet, but he loves the mirror in the gym!

Alright, let's try this again.....

So, a few of you may remember this one time when I started a blog (threekehrets@blogspot.com)? Well, it's still there, but I believe the last post is from June of 2008......yeah, I apparently did not win the blogger of the year award for that one! Obviously threekehrets will no longer apply since....yes....there are now four of us!! I would hope that if you are reading my blog you know me well enough to know that we have TWO boys now! And boy oh boy are they growing up fast!

Jake and I have a long standing joke that we (as a couple) do not waste any time. Nope, none at all. We have known each other for a little over 4 years now and in that short amount of time we met, got engaged, got married, and had two beautiful little boys! Isaiah who is 2 years 4 months, and little Christian who will soon be 10 months old. They keep us busy, but best of all, they keep us smiling and laughing! Kids are such a blessing and we are enjoying the ride and taking everything as it comes.

Let's do a short little recap of the most recent things going on in our lives (for those few of you that do NOT have a facebook account to keep in touch!). As I said, Isaiah is a little over two and is our little firecracker! He is your typical two year old, tantrums and all. He loves to push buttons which is always challenging. But oh can he be sweet when he wants to! Telling me he loves me and that I'm beautiful:) He talks like nobody's business which is still insane to me, and is ALL boy! Playing in dirt any chance he gets! And currently is a little bit obsessed with "choo choo" trains.

Our little Christian is not so little these days tipping the scales at 22 pounds! He is the most mellow, easy going baby! Which is nice for Mom and Dad. However, he is now mobile which brings on a new challenge. He is walking here and there a few steps and will be running in no time, and at only 10 months old!! Guess I'll be getting my exercise:)

Jake and I are currently looking to buy a house in Orcutt. I'll be honest, we're feeling a bit discouraged at the moment because everything in our price range is SOOOO competitive. We put an offer in on a house last week and unfortunately did not get it:( Such is life, we will press on and hope to find our house!

So, that all being said, let's try this blogging thing again, shall we?? Hopefully I can stick to it this time!
